Our Tools

A-1 Detailing uses state of the art computer software to model and produce shop drawings.  The program is called X-Steel.  Produced in Finland by Telka, X-Steel is a solid 3D modeling program in which the user creates a full-scale model of the complete structure on the computer graphically.  The model will include:

Blue Print
  • connection materials
  • base plates
  • cap plates
  • clips
  • shear plates
  • bolts & welds

The graphic presentation is especially powerful, allowing the operator to zoom and pan, inspecting each connection of the structure.

When all details have been added and reviewed, the program automatically produces a detail drawing of each item in the model, complete with erection plans. Being a computer program, reporting is a snap.  The program automatically produces the following reports:

  • Shipping list ( by division )
  • Main Parts List
  • Connection Material List
  • Field Bolt List
  • Individual and total weights
  • Surface area calculations ( for paint calculation )

We are also registered users of AutoCad R14 and 2000, the world's best known, and most widely used computer aided drafting software.

A-1 Detailing would be glad to provide pricing for any project you may require assistance with.  We are comfortable working on projects from 1-1000 tons in size.  Drawings can be returned to you electronically or plotted and sent to your business by courier.

Federal Express offers overnight deliveries in most cases to our street address.  You can reach us by phone, fax, E-Mail, or visit our office.
